Frozen echoes from the North since 1997
Jääportit is an atmospheric music project founded in 1997 by T. M. Mäkelä. It started in dungeon synth and grew into something more cinematic, moving between ambient, darkwave, experimental electronica and frost touched post-rock. The music comes out of winter landscapes, solitude and long northern silence.
Each piece works like a passage through a landscape you half remember, built from slow melodies and electroacoustic texture. If you are after immersive ambient worlds, dark cinematic soundscapes or melancholic electronic atmospheres, this is a way into the frozen unknown.
