New single “Ajaton Olema”

Hello. For all of those who might be wondering about new Jääportit material, I’ve been working on many other time consuming music projects besides Jääportit, therefore this project has been lurking in the shadows for some time.

Yet it is hard to say will there be another album or not, but I decided to release this new single track titled “Ajaton Olema” digitally anyways. Making of the track was started in 2011 and mix was finished in 2014. If you like, listen to it at SoundCloud or YouTube.

The fact is that Jääportit lives on, no matter what I do or don’t do, and as a one-man project, Jääportit can’t never split up. All possibilities are open, there’s always an another gateway to be found and sounds to explore.

More to come, I might say.

With the best regards,
T. M. Mäkelä, Jääportit

Kuihtuman Henkivi – digital download

Jääportit track Kuihtuman Henkivi was originally released on compilation album ”YOGSOTHERY – Gate I: Chaosmogonic Rituals Of Fear” as CD in a cardboard slipcase with 20-page full colour booklet with liner notes and lyrics by I, Voidhanger Records at 2010.

The compilation opens with a 25-minute track by Jääportit , a dark ambient / darkwave project from Finland and while it is the least “Metal” track on here, it surely offers some lovecraftian atmospheres of gloom-and-doom through obscure soundscapes and voices organized in layers around a lead synth. Here, Jääportit is not afraid (compared to other projects such as Vinterriket) to display invention and playfulness that one might have already had experienced on excellent albums such as ’Avarrus’ or ’Uumenissa’ and that makes the project a standout in the genre. For sure the release could not find a better invocation of an atmosphere of out-of-space colors.
