Unfortunately the release of our next album has been postponed to the March or April of 2009. This is due to the matter of time passing by so quickly, occasional mood swings, aspiring for die-hard perfectionism and what not.

Anyway, good things are worth waiting for and what's the rush? Actually the springtime fits better for the release of the next album. One of the album themes is dealing with the matter of what will happen to the Gates of Ice when they start to melt down due to global warming or other major distraction. When the Gates starts to crack down and take another shape. Portal takes us even deeper than before.

Hopefully, there will be some samples online before the actual release date.

Tuomas of Jääportit has taken part to a Finnish obscure metal band Umbra Nihil's next album The Borderland Rituals, by creating synthesized astral-chaos to their track called The Sign of Death.

Finally the redesign process of Jääportit website was finished. New look and feel for the site was created to foresee the changes that the forthcoming new album and whole 4th phase of the spiral-like lifespan will evoke around us and them.

New Jääportit album will be released by Epidemie Records during the autumn 2008.

We have almost finished recording material for the next yet untitled full length album. Currently it contains 7 new tracks. Sound is updated, more stylish, layered, distorted, rhythmic and better than before. Different styles like experimental ambient electronica keeps blending on together with melancholic post-rock flavours.
